why hire a wedding planner?

wedding-bikeWe make your ideas happenHiring a wedding planner is the greatest investment you can make toward your peace of mind. Whether you hire the wedding planner to manage your entire wedding or to just coordinate the day-of, you will have an objective, reliable person helping you make sure everything is as planned.

Can you think of anyone else who would be willing to oversee the set up of your reception or the arrival of your flowers, band, cake, photographer, or caterer?

You can’t rely on a relative or wedding guest, who might feel resentful about getting ‘roped into’ many hours of very hard work.

12 tips for planning the perfect beach wedding

The beach wedding is romantic and picturesque. The South Shore is home to countless beautiful beaches just waiting to host your special day. Imagine your invitations arriving like messages in a bottle. Picture your toes in the sand as the sun sets over the ocean while saying, “I do.” It’s exciting; it’s fun; it’s different; it’s most definitely romantic; but can you pull it off? Yes you can, if you have a plan. Here are 12 tips on planning the perfect beach wedding.

This article by Julie Brewster originally appeared in the Fall 2011 Bridal magazine from Gatehouse Media.

1. Choose Your Beach.
It can be near a resort, hotel or beach club. Make sure you visit the beach first so you know it’s exactly what you want. Some beaches are privately owned, some crowded, some secluded. Make your decision based on the style of wedding you envision. Enlisting the help of a wedding planner can make things much easier on you from choosing your venue to keeping curious onlookers clear of your wedding ceremony. Do some research and hire a reputable local wedding planner who is familiar with planning a beach wedding.

2. Prepare for All Weather.
Since the beach is an open venue, you need to plan for hot sun, wind and rain. You can either rent a tent to be put up on the beach to accommodate all your guests; or reserve an indoor venue close by as a back-up. When setting up pay attention to the way the wind is blowing. No one wants all of their ceremony pictures to be covered up with blowing hair. A good wedding planner will have this in mind and prepare the focus point of your ceremony accordingly.

10 ways we can help

Here are some valuable ways a wedding planner make your wedding the day you’ve always dreamed of. Anyone who has planned a wedding recently knows that there are many other aspects not covered here. But this should give you a good idea of how important it is to have a wedding planner and how that planner can help make your wedding wonderful.

1. Coordinate Your Wedding Planning.
Your wedding planner can advise you about all the details, from what your invitations should say to where to have the reception to who pays for what. The planner should be able to guide you to good resources and suppliers.  And your wedding planner should have an extensive check-off list for you, that includes a schedule for getting everything done.

2. Make Your Life Easier.
Sometimes, it is frustrating for the wedding planner to be left out of some major decisions and then at the last minute be expected to put out a fire because someone never followed up. Some couples think they’re saving money by not having their planner take care of some minor issues, but in the end this could be ‘Penny Wise, Pound Foolish.’ Your planner can do some of the legwork, help keep track of the hundreds of details, and help with the all-important following up.
